I’ve been dying to go to the Alameda Antiques Fair for quite some time, especially since I moved into my new place and have been restraining myself from buying/decorating so I could do most of it at this epic flea market. It takes place monthly, on the first Sunday of the month, so I managed to hold out until this weekend. It’s such an awesome experience – there’s cheap, unique, high-quality home decor/goods as far as the eye can see (set against a gorgeous backdrop-view of San Francisco from the East Bay), plus food trucks and stands. Apparently everything there is more than 20 years old (or so they claim). It’s worth getting there early to beat the crowds and get the good stuff. Far better than buying stuff new or the exact same items, outrageously priced and for sale at the city’s hip artisan home stores. Check out the goodies I grabbed in the last photo.
