Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) is calling for very obvious, but very effective reform for military rape cases. Her proposed legislation would make it so that victims of sexual assault in the military can report straight to prosecutors, rather than have to report it to their commanding officer (perpetuating a vicious, tragic trend where assaults are reported and no action is taken and perpetrators go unpunished).
