I’m sure Four Barrel isn’t news to anyone – it seems like their coffee is served almost everywhere in the city – but I had yet to visit their own brick and mortar location in the Mission until this weekend. It was, of course, a hip-to-death place, with coffee and treats galore, plus super hipster coffee-entrepreneurs making your java next to shelves of old records, beneath animal heads hanging on the walls. Of course. But alas, just being there makes you feel exponentially cooler. And the coffee is delicious. Oh, and they have one of the city’s best parklets (see below) outside where you can sip caffeine and people watch until your eyes bleed and you need to get out of there.
I’m being dramatic, but they did post this last year:
Well, Four Barrel doesn’t even offer wifi, so that (might) slow down the Instagram posts…
Anyway, it’s a gourmet coffee spot in the Mission. It is what it is. And despite the annoying hipsterness and sometimes pretension, it’s a beautiful space to hunker down and enjoy a cup of albeit-pricey joe.
